Eau De Sous–Bois is a contribution to Terra Narratives, an exhibition of artists’ books and visual narratives curated by Jennifer Rife in 2026. Terra Narratives encouraged unearthing, the theme focusing on Earth, those that inhabit it, and the environments that engulf us. This work is inspired by stratification, the delicate and mussed pieces of paper layered and stitched with thread as a nod to a saddle stitched book.
The edges are raw, and only those who step close to investigate the metallic silver shimmer will experience the letterpress printed narrative. An excerpt from Jaya John’s Daughter Drink This Water is inked on the pages, starting ever so sweetly and revealing a rawness reminiscent of nature.
